Dr. Nick Banks
Education:
Class of 1965 - Fayetteville High School, Fayetteville, AR;
Class of 1969 - University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR;
Class of 1973 - Southern College of Optometry, Memphis, TN
Dr. Banks has been taking care of people's eyes for over 35 years. He first started practicing optometry in 1974 with the former mayor of Fayetteville, Garland C. Melton, OD. He also had practices in Prairie Grove and the Eye Center. He then decided to open his own practice (at his current location) in order give his patients the best possible care available, at his own pace. He feels that his patients should be treated with respect and consideration and that a yearly eye examination should be thorough, informative and educational in a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. He has been quoted as saying: "There is no such thing as a stupid question when it comes to the health of your eyes." Anyone looking for good, friendly, traditional yet state-of-the-art eye care will get it here.
Dr. Banks practices primary eye care and is a Board Certified Optometric Physician licensed to use any topical or oral medication to treat any eye diseases, including glaucoma. He is also a member of the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce and past president of the Fayetteville Lions Club, of which he is still a member. His charities of choice are The Brandon Burlsworth Foundation and Optometry Giving Sight. He has been practicing at his present location for over eleven years now. You can find him located right across the street from the Fayetteville Athletic Club on the corner of Zion and 265 (Crossover Rd.) in the Kee Corner Plaza, directly East of the Mall.
Dr. Banks likes to spend his time off either working outdoors or fly fishing. He shares this hobby, along with bird watching, gardening and work, with his wife Maria. Between the two of them, they have five children: Lucas, Jessica, Timothy, Tyler, Casey and one grandson, Edyn.

Barbara Sanders - Barbara is currently our Patient Liason/Tech at the front desk and and a very good one. However, due to her request for less hours combined with her enthusiasm and ability to learn quickly we will be moving her from the front desk to a "floating position" where she will be assissting Roberta and I with special projects. This is a new position and another step in our ongoing efforts to improve our service and eye care to you, our patrons, which is always foremost on our mind.
We will be announcing her replacement at the front desk soon!
Barbara hails from Louisiana, is married to Tom, and is a member of a garden club and loves crossword puzzles! Please welcome her to our clinic family!

Roberta Skaggs Most of you all know that Roberta has been back after a year-long so called "retirement". Well, she just couldn't stay away. Many patients have expressed gratitude for her return and if you don't know her, once you meet her you will understand! She basically is our Optical Department here at Banks Family Eye Clinic. Robert has 30+ years of Optical experience and can help you with all your frame and lens needs. When not at the office Roberta enjoys traveling, camping, and spending time with her husband John, a Navy veteran (thank you for your service John) and her ini Dachaunds, Gracie and Suzie.

Maria Banks. Many of you who have been coming for a long time remember Maria. She has also returned (full time that is - she always maintained the a/p portion of the practice)) after a 2-3 year "hiatus" in which she was using her Spanish as a Spanish nterpreter for several clients which included Circle of Life Hospice - where she still volunteers once a week, for Vista Health and for some of the District Courts. But alas, her interests in Banks Family Eye Clinic as well as Tamie's departure have brought her back to work side by side with the rest of the crew and tackle the "insurance billing and collecting" side of things as well as helping anywhere she can as needed.
Her other interests revolve around the Rotary of Fayetteville, singing with the "Circle of Harmony" choir at the Circle of Life Hospice and spending time co-caring for grandson Jackson (18 months old) with his other grand-parents, while his mother is an absent active duty Marine.
